Q. How does it work?
A.
A consignment store sells your things for you and shares in the profit. It
allows us the opportunity to help you dispose of your unwanted furnishings
by providing a pleasant and professional setting in which to display your
items. Appointments recommended but not required.

Q. How much will I receive from the sale of my goods?
A.
You will receive a payment of 50% of the selling price  (minus sales tax).
We keep 50% profit as payment for our services. Pricing is extremely
important when consigning and we will work together to establish an asking
price.

Q. How do we determine the asking price of an item?
A.
Any information you have regarding your piece such as age, purchase
price, and manufacturer is extremely helpful.

Q. How long is the commitment period?
A.
We ask you to make a commitment for 90 days. Periodic markdowns of
10% will occur at 30 and 60 day intervals. At 90 days, you have the option
of removing your item(s), donating them to one of our thrift stores, or
allowing Kate's Consignment to do what is reasonably necessary to sell
your item(s).

Q. When will I receive payment?
A.
Payments are mailed by the fifteenth day of the following month after
the sale occurs. You will not be notified that your items have sold, although
you are welcome to call anytime to inquire about activity concerning your
item(s).

Q. What do we accept?
A.
Kate's Consignment accepts all types of furniture that has been gently
used and is in clean take-home condition. Upholstered furniture must have
no stains, tears and especially no odor(s) (i.e smoke free home.) Wear
and or fading is inevitable in older pieces and will be accepted. The selling
price will reflect this. We also accept smaller items such as china,
glassware, crystal, collectibles, home decorative accessories, pictures,
mirrors and candles etc. Smaller items in increments of 25 pieces at a time
can be dropped off anytime within normal business hours.

Items we do not accept include: mattresses and box-springs, clothing,
toys, and baby items, metal office furniture, appliances, Tupperware,
unsold yard sale items, 25th and 50th anniversary items. We also do not
accept soft cover books or Christmas Tree Shop/Dollar store items, etc.
